Sachin Karpe's First Experience in Mumbai Monorail

After a long wait on 2nd of February, India's first monorail started flying in Mumbai. This is the first monorail built in India and it is the second longest monorail in the world. Japan’s Osaka Monorail is the first longest monorail in the world.  On 1st February, Maharashtra Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan inaugurated the monorail in Mumbai. Next day of Inauguration it was made available for public use.

Sachin Karpe says “It was fun riding. Coaches were air-conditioned and the ride was so smooth and comfortable. “ He was so excited to see the happiness of other passengers who too traveled along with him.
The first phase of 8.93 km is between Wadala to Chembur which covers seven stations inbetween and the station are Wadala depot, Mysore Colony, Bhakti Park, Bharat Petroleum, V.N. Purav Marg, Fertilizer colony and Chembur. Soon the second phase is expected in mid of 2015.

Around 19,600 passengers traveled on this mass rapid transport where it has the capacity to carry 7,400 passengers per hour. This monorail is moving at a top speed of 80 kilometers per hour and an average speed of 30 kilometers per hour. Eventually Mumbaikars start enjoying the ride.

To take a joyride on the Monorail you need to pay Rs.8 to Rs.20 depending on the length of journey you carry. Very cost-efficient offers low and comfortable mode of transport to Mumbaikars.

Sachin Karpe also mentioned that in future tickets will be access through smart-card, lifts and escalators at overhead stations, it promises to change the way Mumbaikars travel.
